Hello, this is Hancom News! 👋
Korea Public AI Expo 2026 (the 9th e-Government Day Commemoration Ceremony, KPAIX 2026·Korea Public AI Expo 2026) was held from June 23 to 24 at Hall 9B, KINTEX Exhibition Center 2 in Ilsan. Hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and organized by the National Information Society Agency (NIA), the expo ran under the slogan, “The future of industry opened by public AI, an AI democratic government leading the world.”
What is e-Government Day?
e-Government Day was established in 2017 to commemorate June 24, 1967, when a computer (IBM 1401) was first introduced to administrative agencies in Korea for demographic processing. This year marked the 9th anniversary, and a commemorative ceremony was held in conjunction with Korea Public AI Expo 2026.

Notably, this event was the first industry expo created to support a key government agenda item—“growing domestic AI companies by expanding the public AI market.” A total of 52 companies participated, including leading Korean AI companies and startups such as Hancom, Samsung SDS, LG CNS, Naver Cloud, and Kakao.
Hancom’s 36 years of competitiveness in the public AI market

Based on 36 years of accumulated core data technologies, Hancom has supplied AI solutions to major public institutions such as the National Assembly Library and the National Assembly Secretariat, securing a wide range of adoption cases in the public AI market.
More recently, Hancom declared its transition into a “Sovereign Agentic OS company”, presenting a new leap forward as a company that provides data sovereignty and AI execution environments in an integrated manner. Because it enables secure control without sending data outside, it is expected to be a major strength for security-sensitive public institutions.
Hancom’s participation in Korea Public AI Expo 2026 was an extension of this direction, as it joined to showcase AI technologies firsthand that enhance the efficiency of public administration—as a partner that has supported public institutions’ digital transformation beyond being simply a document company.

2. Introducing Hancom’s showcased products
At this Public AI Expo, Hancom showcased ‘Sovereign Agentic OS,’ along with three AI products: Hancom Assistant, HancomPedia, and Hancom Data Loader.
Hancom Sovereign Agentic OS: An AI agent operations platform for public AI environments
Sovereign Agentic OS is an integrated AI agent operating system that connects and controls internal organizational data, external AI models, existing business systems, and permission frameworks within a single secure environment.
Since declaring its transition into a “Sovereign Agentic OS company,” Hancom has been building an AX platform optimized for enterprise work environments so that data, systems, and AI can connect. It was first revealed as a concept video at this expo, drawing strong interest from attendees.

Hancom Assistant: An AI document authoring tool that supports document writing for public institutions
Hancom Assistant is an AI document authoring solution that analyzes user intent and supports everything from drafting to sentence correction and expression refinement, improving overall document quality. It has been adopted and used by various public institutions, including the National Assembly Library, the Korea Coast Guard, and Korea Western Power.
Given that public institutions produce a high volume of Hangul documents, officials who visited the booth expressed expectations that adopting Hancom Assistant would help streamline document-writing work. During the live demo, there was strong interest in the ‘draft creation’ feature, including templates for reports and plans, and visitors responded positively that it would significantly reduce working time.

HancomPedia: An AI search solution for public institutions that supports closed-network environments
HancomPedia is an AI search solution that enables natural-language search across vast internal document repositories and supports safe use in on-premises and closed-network environments. It has notably been adopted by the National Assembly Secretariat and is used in real work settings.
HancomPedia drew strong interest from public-sector officials for whom security is critical, and there were many questions about security and whether it can operate in closed networks. In particular, it earned high trust because it supports on-premise environments, allowing direct installation within a closed network so there is no risk of internal documents being taken outside. Also, while the demo environment uses GPT-4o, it drew attention that in closed-network environments it can also run separate language models such as LG EXAONE 4.0.

Hancom Data Loader: A document parsing solution that converts documents into AI training data
Hancom Data Loader is a document structure analysis solution that converts documents such as HWP, HWPX, PDF, and OOXML into data that can be utilized for AI training and search. At the event, a case study was presented in which the Bank of Korea utilized Hancom Data Loader to resolve internal Hangul document data cleansing issues.
AI business managers who visited the booth showed strong interest in Hangul document parsing while 추진하는 AI initiatives and document database creation.
Because refined data determines AI project performance, attention focused on Data Loader’s ability to accurately extract the structure and content of Hangul documents that include complex formatting such as tables and multi-column layouts. It also received positive responses from stakeholders considering adoption because it supports HWPX and can parse DRM (Digital Rights Management)-protected documents after decryption.

3. Hancom booth event highlights
At the event booth, Hancom ran an event for visitors who watched AI product demos and explanations.
Participants could receive a gift through a random draw after joining a demo. With no “losing” outcomes, the gifts included Hancom-produced keycap keyrings, reusable bags, pens, and shortcut-key sticker packs. In particular, the keycap keyrings featuring Hancom’s brand identity and the Hangul shortcut-key stickers were especially popular, adding to the excitement on site. 🔥

4. ‘AI Innovation Company Tech Forum’ on site

During Korea Public AI Expo 2026, the ‘AI Innovation Company Tech Forum’ was also held.
Hancom joined as a leading AI company, and Jaeuk Shin, Team Lead of the AI Consulting Team, delivered a presentation on the topic “Beyond generative AI—now is the era where AI agents work.”
Hancom’s presentation focused on why AI agents are needed and the direction for applying them to real work.
Here is a summary of the key points.
① The limits of LLMs—why AI agents?
Because LLMs generate answers based on probabilities, they can produce hallucinations—answers that differ from actual facts. AI agents have evolved beyond this limitation by directly connecting to required tools such as documents, APIs, and business systems to retrieve information and provide more accurate and reliable responses.
② Agent platform competition heats up
As AI agents spread into enterprise work, the center of competition is shifting from model performance to agent platforms. Global big tech is trying to take the lead in standard protocols such as MCP and A2A, while enterprises are moving to platformize work by connecting existing SaaS and internal systems into agent studio/control tower architectures. In Korea as well, agent platform development and services targeting finance, public sector, and manufacturing customers are continuing. The core of competition is expanding beyond “which model you use” to “how you can connect and operate agents with real enterprise work.”
③ Hancom’s AI work platform vision: Sovereign Agentic OS
Based on 36 years of capabilities in creating and analyzing documents, AX clinical data validated through various AI businesses, and a customer base of over 200,000, Hancom is preparing an AI work platform. The core is to structure unstructured documents into data AI can use, create and manage agents, and connect data governance and security controls within a single environment. Through this, Hancom plans to provide an environment where companies and institutions can safely connect and operate AI in real work.
④ In the era of AI agents, what matters is operations and security
As the use of AI agents expands, the number of agents created across departments is expected to increase. Now, beyond creating individual agents, organizations need a system to centrally manage accumulated agents across the organization and operate them in line with internal security policies. In step with these changes, Hancom is preparing in a direction that can support agent operations and security control frameworks.
5. e-Government Day Commemoration Ceremony & VIP booth tour

At the ceremony, the government announced an“World’s Best AI Democratic Government Realization Strategy” to implement administration in which citizens become the true owners of state affairs in the AI era. Hancom attended as a representative of the private sector and joined the stage for the “AI Democratic Government Vision Declaration Ceremony,” sharing the moment of the declaration.

After the ceremony, an exhibition tour was held with key guests, including Minister of the Interior and Safety Ho-jung Yoon. At Hancom’s booth, Hancom introduced key AI solutions including Sovereign Agentic OS and shared its direction for public-sector AI transformation.
